Our Work
We have been fortunate to work with some amazing projects in the field of social and environmental change. From a women empowerment social enterprise on the shore of Lake Malawi to rainforest conservation in Kalimantan, Indonesia. Here are some of the project we have worked with;

Katundu - Likoma Island, Malawi
Katundu Likoma is a community workshop that focuses on providing ethical employment through the design and production of sustainable and contemporary furniture. Katundu's main range focuses on lighting chandeliers handmade from recycled and locally collected natural materials.
Since 2016 we've worked with Katundu in the capacity of General Manager. First on-site on Likoma Island and since 2021 in a remote position leading the in-country management team. During this time we transitioned the company from a local workshop targeting island tourism into a successful international lighting & furniture export business. To achieve this we developed efficient logistical & financial systems to service the international market and build the capacity of the local management team to handle all in-country operations.
Leading the restructure of the company during the COVID pandemic as well as creating systems to run the project remotely gives us a strong foundation in managing change and developing new strategic directions.

Marine Megafauna Foundation - Inhambane, Mozambique
Barefoot Conservation - West-Papua, Indonesia

Barefoot Conservation's mission is to work in partnership with the Raja Ampat local government, local Papuan Communities and stakeholders, to protect the coral reefs of Raja Ampat and the communities that rely on them.
To successfully achieve this mission, we joined the community development team to advance their environmental outreach programs and strengthen stakeholder relationships. This included collaborations with local schools, capacity building for sustainable tourism operators, and the training of local marine scientists and dive guides. In order to strengthen the partnership with local government and environmental departments, we reviewed and optimized the reporting and communication channels of Barefoot's data collection systems.

Carpets for Communities - Cambodia
Carpets for Communities (CfC) was a not-for-profit social enterprise focusing on developing sustainable solutions to end poverty. They aimed to empower mothers of impoverished families to earn a stable and fair income through the production of one-of-a-kind, hand-hooked carpets.
To scale the impact of CfC, our goal was to create opportunities for new families to join the program while also developing exit strategies to help families become sustainably independent. This was achieved by generating cash flow through international product sales, managing donors and grants, and expanding community initiatives to include an innovative micro-loan and entrepreneurial capacity-building program. Additionally, we developed partnerships to implement a "Child Friendly School" program, aimed at improving the quality of education in Cambodia.
CfC was a locally run Cambodian NGO supported by a large network of volunteers in Australia. To successfully operate within this structure, maintaining an effective internal communications network was crucial to ensure strong engagement and support for the cause. We established this network and organized several volunteer conferences in Australia with great success.

Orangutan International - Indonesia
The Orangutan Foundation International (OFI) works to protect wild orangutans and their rainforest habitat, as well as to rehabilitate wildborn ex-captive orphan orangutans for life in the wild. OFI’s goal is, ultimately, to save orangutan populations from extinction and to better the lives of individual orangutans. To achieve this goal, OFI has established different programs which address these issues.
In support of OFI's mission, we were primarily involved in producing materials for their US communications department. In this role, we created news articles, blog posts, photography, and regular updates for the orphan adoption program and other fundraising efforts.
While on the ground at the Indonesian orphan rehabilitation clinic, we were also involved in the daily care and rehabilitation of three severely paralyzed orangutans.
The Marine Megafauna Foundation (MMF) is a globally recognized marine conservation non-profit. MMF focusses on protecting the most endangered ocean giants, and the habitats they call home.
For their head office in Tofo, Mozambique they needed support to organize their in-country operations incl. finances, office management, program development and HR.
In addition to the operational support to MMF we were also involved in developing the newly established partnership with Underwater Africa, a volunteer marine research program. This involved the development of the research & volunteer program itself as well as establishing B2B partnerships and marketing materials to attract the program participants. This program was ultimately designed to support both data collection and revenue generation for MMF.
